So I was looking around Craigslist when I spotted this Tamron 24-48 f3.5-3.8 lens and all it cost me was $30! Impressions on it from the Internet seem favorable.
I shot a couple test pics. Center is sharp wide open. Problem is the 0.6m minimum focusing distance so you're not likely to get much bokeh at the wide end but it's a very nice look at 48mm. Zoom and focus rings are smooth but the aperture ring is quite clicky. Some vignetting at 24mm.

Can't wait to shoot a video with it. That is a sick lens flare. I want one of those anamorphic lenses to couple so I can go all JJ Abrams on everything.
