It is never too late to do what you want. There will always be a chance of 'it' coming back to you. Treasure the time you actually have living in this world and disregard the saying of "my existence in life is meaningless". Whether be a wallflower or just plain "weird", there is, and will be a person on the other side of the world or maybe even close to you that shares the same values and loves you. Don't give up and just travel the long journey to find that someone that you'd love to share every single detail of your life with.
Don't miss your chance because one day you will surely regret it; the time when the person repeatedly calls but you feel that avoiding it is the best way to solve the problem but in reality it isn't. You just continuously make excuses for yourself to not see the person, but deep down your heart says otherwise. You isolate yourself because you think, think and think, but in fact the answer is so obvious. You don't care about your life anymore but the issue. You put your foot down and finally make your decision to retrieve the one that got away, just to find out that the person has been taken away.
However, realize that if two persons were meant for each other, nothing in the whole world can pull you guys apart. But how do you know if two people are meant for each other? Who knows? In movies, it just so happens the two main characters are written to be destined to be with each other. But in real life? Is there such thing as "true love"?
