Hi Genki inside Nikkei Place.
It is a restaurant inside a seniors home. It is run by the people who own Fujiya. I've heard good things about the place and have always wanted to go. I went for lunch, btw.
In a nutshell, it is pretty close to home made Japanese food. I only tried the chicken karaage. One order of each, regular and spicy. Both were surprisingly good. Wife and her friend had other stuff and they reported it was pretty darn good.
I would rate the karaage about 8/10. The best karaage I've had in my entire life is from some restaurant in Winnipeg of all places. Yujiro. Anyway, if you want pretty good Japanese food that is a bargain (big servings), give Hi Genki a try. BTW, best time to go is around 11:30 am on a weekday. Anything after that or on the weekends and it's way too busy. I'm going back to try their dinner menu one day. Oh, the service there is OK. It is afterall a cafeteria.
