That was my biggest problem for the longest time with the gf, all the activities, places we went etc, I considered those dates and she didn't. So we try to do at least 1 "date" a week now. Make dinner together...bike the sea wall, go for a hike...
Ps, that date roulette thing we did...turns out works quite well...instead of doing stupid things to do through the night, we both wrote date ideas that we want to go on in general. Threw em in a jar and pull one out.
This weekend we've got bday dinners to tend to, so next weekends date is to go horse back riding
