My right shoulder took most of the impact. The driver remained on the scene and took responsibility. The cops gave him a $17X ticket for running the stop sign. I assume ICBC will cover my medical expenses, but what about my bike? I just bought some new wheels and I think my front wheel is slightly bent, as it doesn't spin freely anymore. The rest of the bike seems ok, though I'm not in any condition to ride and test it out.
The driver is offering to pay and seems like a nice guy, but I guess I would be better off going to ICBC? The cop kept saying I didn't need to involve ICBC because it wasn't an accident with cars and said I didn't to take the driver's insurance info. I did anyways.

crap, sorry to hear about that!! Hope you're ok, and heal up fast. Bring your bike to reputable bike shop(s) and get a written estimate on how much it would be to fix it up. Yes, go to ICBC! What if something down the line arises with your health, you'd be out of luck. There are specific 'bike' lawyers who will take on cases like this (David Hay) in Vancouver. Good on you for taking the driver's info, the cop doesn't know what he's talking about.
