It's actually surprisingly difficult to order in HK Without knowing the Chinese names. Makes it tough because you gotta learn all the whacky names that aren't direct translations. Then You have the issue that they aren't expecting you to even know how to say it, so they immediately don't hear it. Quite often these poor kids give up before even taking an order. Also they use different measurements ... The Quarter Pounder is called "3 Full Taels"
Probably would be different in the "white" neighbourhoods of course.
Easy in Japan since the names are all in English. But you gotta say it with a Japanese accent. You can't order a McDouble unless you say "makudaburu". First time I made the mistake of saying "mikudaburu" and they didn't get it.
