Appstore? I'm guessing you installed Amazon.com app, instead of the appstore:
To get the appstore, go here from your phone's browser to download the APK:
http://www.amazon.com/getappstore
You'll need to allow the installation unknown sources APKs in your settings since you're side-loading.
