It will help to get out in the open and wilderness once in a while. I don't get how so many people can live in the city and never leave.. I know someone who never leaves HK island, EVER. Won't even go to TST...

(I'm basically the same way the other way around.. nothing there for me that isn't closer/better/cheaper)
HK has over 440 square KM of park land... There are so many hiking trails and outdoor things to do.. go canoeing, wakeboarding, hang gliding, bike riding, anything... Basically all the outdoor stuff people rave about in Vancouver is here... And you can do some of it all year round.. Winter hiking is nice, since the air is dry and the skies are clear. You will actually need to wear very warm winter clothes - depending on how high you go, you will be approaching 0C or lower I think!
Then there are all the outlying islands, etc... get out of the city, HK isn't as crowded as you think it is. I moved out of the city after 4 years and now I have a nice open view with lots of green all year round, and I get to see monkeys and cobras
