The only thing I would suggest buying new are boots. Arguably, they are what matters most if you will have comfortable ride or not. You want to break these in yourself; don't buy used.
Gear you could buy nearly new (ridden 4-10 times,) off CL/privately; it won't make a big difference in how your board handles compared to a brand spanking new deck. And you'll save yourself at least $100 if you opt for a board/dings combo which could contribute to different snow attire.
