Not a fan of the new Team Canada Olympic jerseys, but I think some people are overreacting

Hockey Canada officially unveils Olympic jersey design despite murmurings that it calls to mind Nazi Germany
Hockey Canada fought off online attacks Tuesday by unveiling a controversial third jersey that had been savaged online as comparable to a Nazi uniform.
The Olympic uniforms -- to be worn by Canada’s three teams at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia -- were unveiled as athletes modeled the new jerseys in Toronto.
But the controversial uniform designs had been leaked online Sept. 24, and immediately the black-with-red-armband jersey was linked to the hated Nazis’ Schutzstaffel (SS) uniform.
“My initial reaction to Canada’s new Olympic jerseys pic,” Tweeted Andrey Osadchenko (@AOsadchenko) with a trio of disturbing images -– the third complete with a Nazi swastika added to the armband of the black-and-red jersey.
“Just saying, Canada, last time a bunch of guys with one armband tried to go deep into Russia, it didn’t work out too well for them,” tweeted out Jesse Spector (@jessespector), an obvious reference to Germany’s catastrophic decision to invade Russia in the Second World War.
If the marketing types at Hockey Canada were monitoring online when the designs were leaked, time, they would also have noted this devastating review from @MrGenier: “Third jersey is HORRENDOUS, nazi-esque, (one red arm stripe)”
The trio of Olympic/Paralympic hockey jerseys were unveiled Tuesday, with the first two jerseys -- in traditional Canadian red and white -- generally receiving positive reviews.
The controversial third jersey once again blew up online -- this time with critics aking why Hockey Canada officials chose to ignore the Nazi comparisons when they were pointed out weeks ago.
