But who are we kidding here by saying China will not exert influence on HK as soon as they took over the sovereignty of HK. And besides, even if they don't do anything until 2046, I would imagine the outcries and protests would still be the same, except China would probably squash it forcibly by then.
All I see is a slow assimilation of HK into China slowly
