I think you kind of answered your own question though no? What difference does it really make to stack now or buy it once a year?

The price ends up being the same but you pay more up front vs once a year. For me it's just hassle free, I'll just buy a couple years worth and not have to worry about it next year. What if I somehow miss the deal next year? Yes, the deal happens at least once a year but there's no saying you will come across it at the time you need it for sure.
