Yes, it's a bad hit. Yes, he shouldn't have hit him but part of this is on Schenn. He holds that puck for so long, head down and turns as he's about to be hit.
From the other perspective, it's a hit to the back only because he turns, stays on his feet and the guy getting hit has the puck.
Fucking dangerous but I don't know how illegal that is apart from the acceleration into the player.
