Maybe just format it HFS mac file system and install a driver in Windows to give read/write (bootcamp supplied drivers are read only).
Try MacDrive or Paragon HFS+
Trying to avoid paying for software if I have to... what are the advantages and disadvantages of using exFAT compared to the recommendation above?

Also, having come from 13" macbooks with integrated graphics, the 15" Macbook pro is a beast for gaming!
