I'm ready and capable to work, with a shitload of safety certificates, but if you dont have a car in alberta, you are viewed useless. I did apply for EI, and believe me i'm trying to get out, but now that I'm literally facing homelessness I can see how difficult it is to get out.

I mean I can start a trade tomorrow, as an electrician or a ironworker, or a sheet metal/hvac. But because I don't have a car they can't take me on. They tell me get a car, call us back.

Man, that's tough. Is there anything we here at RS can do? I don't really know who you are, but I see you post in RS often enough. I think if anything, RS can come together and help you out. Surely a car club can come up with a car that works. If not we can all pitch in and make it work.

As for the single mom thing, yes, they really have it tough, but the case that was mentioned in this thread isn't cool. You're right, we shouldn't paint people with the same brush.
