Seems stupid for OP to go to the doctor to get a note just for the employers sake. OP is fine now and it is a waste of doctors time/OP time to go to doctor just to write him up a note... As mentioned, since OP is a good employee, the employer should be understanding, unless they are being completely unreasonable.
