^ you can notice the difference definitely, and it's for the better.... it's noticeably different and noticeably better, I really like driving normal cars a lot more now, equipping them with sports softs as opposed to maxing out all my cars with racing softs like in GT5..... gives me a really good sense of how the car handles in real life without that extra crazy grip that racing tires would give you...

I read Ronalds long reply about how GT doesn't hit some aspects of realism, and it makes sense, but at the same time there's only so much we can feel through force feedback of our steering wheels. And I know we've all seen throughout the years the products of GT's realism in the form of GT players turning into actual race car drivers, not to mention actual race car drivers have been using the game for years as a training manual and praising it for it's accurate portrayal of not just the cars but also the tracks/courses.
The one thing that's always impressed me and I don't think I've ever seen it done for any of GT's competition like Forza or any other console based "sim" and those would be those side by side real life and GT race video comparisons and I'm not talking about the visual comparisons to the course or car, I'm talking about LAP TIMES... just go on You Tube and type in "Gran Turismo Real Life lap times" and you'll find numerous videos of lap time comparisons to identical cars doing laps in both GT and real life and the lap times are identical down to the tenth of a second in a lot of cases.

That's really impressive to me, as it is to numerous professionals involved in that automotive racing industry that are aware of it and utilize it to their benefit, and so whenever I see Forza and GT fanboys arguing I always know there's a whole industry standing behind one of those simulations and has been for years, I'll trust the word of a pro anyday

EDIT: and I totally forgot to mention, I've seen this first hand, as a longtime friend of mine who has actually one of the top students/racers at Skip Barber school racing at Laguna Seca winning numerous races in the Formula Dodge division where numerous pros and potential pros were competing, me and this guy would sit and play Gran Turismo for hours and hours, and this helped him immensely on his road as a race car driver

here's a video of him in action at Laguna
