I think with Carter they were looking for a sniper not named Neal. Given he also plays center, he wins out over Neal. Richards is made redundant with Toews.

Based in personal preference and with no bearing to Team Canada:
I would rather follow Jonathan Toews to battle than I would Sidney Crosby; even though unanimously SC is the most talented player on the roster.
