went on a 5 day trip to kyoto+osaka 2 weeks ago.

kuruma 9/10. assorted chicken sashimi was excellent as always.

roan kikunoi (2 michelin stars) 9.5/10. probably the most affordable lunch kaiseki at 7250 Yen. service was excellent.

tempura matsu (actually a kaiseki-ryoutei despite the name). 11/10. best meal in my life and was over 10 courses I believe. very very hospitable service. a lot of famous chefs come from japan to dine here. also the clientele seems to be pretty famous also. i sat at the bar with a famous actor, a famous singer and a famous ballet dancer (10/10 would smash).
