I agree with that sentiment. But obviously that would depend on what life throws at you.
10 years ago, I used to volunteer at the Union Gospel Mission in New West. With the friction and fraction of my own family, I understood that giving to strangers is just as, if not more, important than giving to your friends and family.
People think I'm a Buddhist based on the way I live my life but I tell them that I only live my life based on my own set of principles I feel are most valuable in society and its reflection on my life.
