Friend had a bws 2-stroke with a 80cc motor (high rpm racing crank, full top end, ignition), exhaust, 28mm pwk carb, full new cvt set up, everything. Drove beside him and it would top out at 117km/h, geared it down to max out around 80km/h. (probably 99th+ percentile speed wise for anything that starts out as a 50cc)
I rode it a bunch and it was fun in a straight line from a standstill (hard to keep the front down), but I got bored of it fairly quickly.

If I didn't have a class 6 and a couple motorcycles then maybe I'd have had more fun, but as it was it was interesting but not something I'd want to own or ride regularly. For the amount that cost I'd just buy a smaller motorcycle over a scooter. For what he paid for the scooter + parts he could have easily just bought a newer 250 in good shape.
