Owners can't suppress a player's patriotism. If I was a player in the NHL, why wouldn't I want to get picked by my country to an elite team to play against another country's elite players in a best-on-best tournament for an Olympic medal? Can't get more exciting than that for a professional player who may be jaded from the routine that is an NHL season.
