Forgot to mention, if you have little kids, take them to the Adams River during the big run. I believe it starts late September and goes into late October. It's an awesome experience to see a river turn red. Death and life together as one. Two sockeye together to spawn. They do their thing and then die soon after, becoming food for the avelin/fry when they hatch and find their way out to sea to start the cycle again. This act has fascinated people for thousands of years.
The place turns into a bit of a circus with people selling souvenirs and stuff, but it's something you have to witness at least once in your life. Plus, you can visit Lomac. I
think he lives somewhere near there.
