The Flight Data Recorder, IF it retains enough data, will only give information about the plane's actual route, what controls were being operated, basic stuff like that. blackbox has plenty of information on it - it will be able to tell you a lot about the story, and then smart people will be able to figure out what happened.

you really think we'll just say 'fuck it, too hard to find the black box... sorry people, you'll never know what happened' - won't happen.
