Didn't they swap you to another seat? Last time it happened to me, I got op-up'd to first (J was full) along with the sorry pack, which I exchanged for 10% off int'l flight.
On a separate topic, with so many frequent flyers here, we should start an "air stewardess" thread...
But don't expect much contribution from me, I fly mostly AC/UA and all I see are grandmas...
