Honestly shrimp season is all year round.. I rather have them March -> April that's when the shrimps are not moulting. Having a festival is just a trick to get people excited and sell old and dying shrimps.
The Spot Prawn festival is to celebrate the opening of the Canadian season (which opens first week of May ends Mid-end june/july depending on catch)

The season is NOT anytime now until may.

Should get your facts right before trying to educate others
