Transporting just requires a LATT/long term ability to transport, your firearm registration papers (if restricted), and PAL.
storing is pretty simple, just need to be stored in an opaque case secured with a lock and a trigger lock on the actual firearm itself (or something that locks the action, or even removing the bolt for some rifles all together)
Safes are not required, but I got one anyways for peace of mind.
