Trattoria Italian Kitchen, Park Royal.
On Saturday, went to the restaurant for its first day opening to customers (after the press/reporter Grand Opening on Friday).
Appetizer - spicy calamari = VERY GOOD and big fat juicy squid (deep fried with great texture and spices)
Mains - Crab, lobster, and shrimp cannelloni which was very good with the right amount of meat and starch and the starch was a little crisp which is the way I like it.
Dessert - dessert platter consisting of Italian donuts, sorbet, lemon tarts, etc. - the right amount of sweetness and sour all mixed into one order/dish.
Service - the server was very attentive... being the first day, the food was slow to come out, but it is as expected (due to the first day opening "ramping" up time).
I had to wait about 1 hour and 15 minutes for a table, but they let you leave your phone number down at the restaurant and they will text you when the table is ready.
No reservations.
Ambiance - great vibe and it is LOUD... there is a second storey roof top outdoor dining area as well and some outside first floor perimeter tables.
Price: the food quality is "fine dining" quality but priced at a lower price point.
In fact, the restaurant COULD charge more for the food.
Here is a pic of the restaurant:
I highly recommend the restaurant, but be prepared to wait a LONG time for a table (leave your phone number and walk around for 30 to 45 minutes).
