im on tray 1, hurt like hell the first few days, couldn't eat hard foods (understandable) and cut my gums a bit (and tongue from playing with the backs). but, i take them out every 2-3 hours just to wash them off under cold water for a few seconds then pop them back in. after each meal ill brush and floss, but when it comes to cleaning the trays should i be scrubbing those down with toothpaste as well each time?
read online that i can pop them in water twice a day and throw in a denture cleaning tablet and that will be safe
im going in on wednesday to have buttons put on my teeth. do those hurt?
i didnt think my teeth were too bad, i got them to just fix a small gap between my front teeth. but apparently my jaw isn't lined up, so the middle of my lower teeth are to the left of the middle of my upper two teeth...im assuming ill need those bands. long story short, i need 31 trays. seems like a lot...but im not to worried about it.
my main concern is how often and how to clean the trays. i know the brochure says dont use this or that etc, but that never stops people. so, have any of you used denture cleaners? or just brush with toothpaste after each meal? or only brush them in the morning/night?

polident makes both retainer cleaners and denture cleaners... i have used both for my vivera retainers (which are made by invisalign but are retainers), and there isn't a difference. I usually just rinse them every morning and soak them every week for a deeper clean. no harm brushing them as well as they are pretty durable, and you won't be wearing the one tray for longer than a few weeks. I have had my vivera retainers for a couple of years, and wear them nightly. They are still in pretty good shape. I have another backup as well since the initial order comes in a pack of 3.
