I'm not an expert yet, but when I look at hondas I usually check for the rear quarter panel rust, which is typical for a honda. But if there is none it probably indicates the car was treated well.
Also, you should for any oil leaks in the engine bay, usually you can tell if theres some short of brown guck around the engine. Check the oil stick to see if it burns oil, and if they changed oil before hand, you can try revving the engine to see if it shoots out oil in the back.
Check if the engine idles and see if the gears shift perfectly while the car is on and off. And when you're test driving check if the VTEC kicks in smoothly or not (not an expert on VTEC, but it should be checked).
Not sure if I missed anything that I know of, but I am pretty sure may be other stuff to look out for.
