Spoiler!
I found a Note 3 on Victoria Day weekend while in the states.
At Alderwood mall.
In the Nordstrom toilet.
On the toiler paper box.
While dropping a deuce.
I was extremely tempted to keep it but didn't want to make any rash decisions so I turned it off and waited til I got back to my aunt's place (I was staying there for the weekend).
Got back and decided to keep the phone so I factory restored it and tossed out the sim. After playing with it for a while I couldn't help but to feel guilty so I decided to try to return it to the owner (I took down his email before restoring it for just this reason). I'd just lost my wallet the previous night at Tritonal and figured he'd be feeling just as shitty as me about losing his phone.
I sent the guy an email that same evening but don't get a reply til 10am the next day, in which I was already on my way back to Vancouver.
I get back and reply to his email telling him this. He doesn't reply until the day after and asks me to ship it back to him and he'd pay for the fees. I was pretty hesitant but agreed to do it anyways.
I ship it out Thursday and he gets it the following Wednesday (UPS sent me an email telling me he signed off on it). He doesn't even bother to email me back til I "check up on him" the day after. He then tells me he will pay me once he goes to AT&T and get his phone working again.
I was getting pretty frustrated at this point but give him the entire weekend to do that. Again he doesn't email me until I finally send him one on Tuesday. He then replies like a day later demanding for his sim card because his valuable pictures and videos were in there.
K, I know I fucked up here but I didn't want to say anything so I told him that was how I'd found the phone.
He takes his sweet time to reply to me again and keeps demanding for it and I just tell him I can't do anything about that and just please pay me back now.
From here it goes back and forth pretty much the same way with me asking for my money and him replying with very brief, snobby, infrequent emails demanding I give him his pictures and simcard back. It's been three weeks now since he received the phone from me and I just gave up.
I know I screwed up a little but in all honesty, this guy is a fucking prick. Wish I never returned it to him. I'm broke as fuck right now too and could really have used the money from the phone.
Who's in the wrong here, RS?
