I just got my license as well in january and did a lot of research. The bolt was also my favorite gun in class.

I believe the Savage mark II or the marlin were the best budge bolts for the money. Also, you should join canadian gun nutz forum if you haven't already. A lot of useful info there.
I'll get on CGN, take a look and see what's on there. Yes, I checked the prices and the regular ones were not as expensive as the takedown but still quite a bit more in price...
