Maybe I'm alone on this but when ever I see the Z8 I always feel like the regular design guys got food poisoning from the new schnitzel place in town so they brought in some guys from Pininfarina to design the car. The car is just so curvy and sexy and still looks quite modern by todays standards I think. I'm not knocking BMW in any way, I love their cars a lot. The Z8 just shares zero design language with the BMW's produced at that time IMO.

yeah, and that's a good thing. the BMWs from late 90's and early 2000s were too boxy. the Z8 is different because the design was inspired by the BMW 507 from 1950's. It was also not an in house job, Henrik Fisker designed the Z8. (DB9 and Fisker Karma designer)
