yeah, and that's a good thing. the BMWs from late 90's and early 2000s were too boxy. the Z8 is different because the design was inspired by the BMW 507 from 1950's. It was also not an in house job, Henrik Fisker designed the Z8. (DB9 and Fisker Karma designer)
