I know I can do that - I don't live with my parents anymore... but then that causes problems and the good Asian boy in me doesn't want to do that.
It's my parents that don't want me to do this, by the way, not the extended family. They have no idea I have a girlfriend because I haven't seen them in a few years. The people in my generation - cousins, etc - are totally fine with me bringing the GF, they know via FB already.
