Nuclear warheads are kept inert until activated. They don't explode if a bomb goes off next to it.



I'm on the fence about this show. I talked in one of my earlier posts about how they could have gone in such a different direction in terms of political and sociological statements (ie: my example about an Al Quaida agent taking up the Captain's offer on amnesty for the better of the world), but it's turned out to simply be a typical Jerry Bruckheimer flick... and it's definitely far from his best work. There's so much they can do in terms of the infected and how people from different nations have to work together (c'mon, did they really have to use the old Cold War stereotype of USA vs Russia?). Hell, even seeing old allies (say the USA and UK) turn against each other would be more interesting than the Russian angle.

That said, I don't think this show is intended for anything more than mindless entertainment - especially since it's a Summer show - so my expectations were low. They still are, yet I'm still inclined to tune in every week to watch it.

Not sure what that says about myself...
