Bought a nice and snazzy mITX with this chip today.
EVGA Hadron Air mITX + built-in 500W PSU
Intel G3258 + ASUS H81I-Plus
4GB Corsair DDR3
ASUS R9 270
Samsung EVO 840 120GB SSD
Was a pain in the ass to install because the case is tiny and there's so many wires. Managed to make it look real nice and tidy with zip ties I had lying around.
I got the G3285 stable at 4.5GHz and 1.275v. Temperatures don't go over 75 degrees with a Zalman CNPS5X heatsink with Prime95 testing.
I ran PassMark and got a score of CPU score of 4688. This places the G3285 OC close to the i3-4130 (4813). G3285 stock is 4027.
CPU and heatsink was 72 and heatsink was 17 dollars at NCIX. With a $10 MIR for the heatsink, that brings the combo to roughly $80. I would definitely take this over the i3-4130 that costs $40 more.
Only gripe with the machine is that the ASUS H81I-Plus and the Zalman CNPS5X aren't a good choice together as the heatsink cuts into the two RAM slots. You'll probably want to use those godly 30nm Samsung Green DDR3L RAM that are half the size of regular RAM or a different heatsink.
