Commercial frozen food is more expensive and limit one's diet to pretty much low fiber content veg eg corn, carrots, brussel sprouts.

You don't need to be next to CPR's land to get your own veg. Even UBC now has their own farm that do “Community Shared Agriculture”, you basically pay a subscription for your veg and you get a huge tub of organic seasonal, greens weekly from them deliver right to your door. A lot of farmers market do that, not to mention cow sharing.. $200 for half a cow worth of meat cut for you? that's a heck of a deal.

From what I've read, there isn't a place locally for as cheap as you're describing. $200 will get you less than 1/4.
