If you go to the Apple Support Forums for the iPhone 6 there are five threads regarding bending. Combined there are 2 people reporting this issue and the rest are just general questions (total of less than 20 posts in all threads).

Meanwhile there are threads on issues like iOS 8 battery life, Wifi or BT that have hundreds of posts and tens of thousands of views.

How come these people knew to post in Apple Support about their issues, but the "huge" number of people with bent phones can't seem to locate Apple Support?

Comparing the number of bent phones to the millions sold tells you all you need to know. If 1,000 people have bent phones that's only 1 in 10,000 devices. Hardly an epidemic. It's more likely there's 1 really stupid person in 10,000 people who did something dumb with their phone to bend it then some sort of design flaw with the phone itself. Even the 5/5S had NUMEROUS reports of bending issues. Yet it didn't get nearly the press that the 6+ is getting. I find that quite hilarious.
