Like most anything in a consumer driven market, THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH ________!!
In this case its power. But you are 100% correct. 300bhp on a bike is of no more use than 200bhp however as technology increases you are able to make better use of this power thanks to the little electronic add ons in these bikes.
I'm sure there are tons of things keeping that power in check on this bike and if you leave all the nannies on the bike sorts itself out almost eliminating the rider interface under some circumstances.
There is no need for more other than the consumer wanting more. This bike, IMO will be a great conversation piece like the Desmo was but in the real world it will be a complete flop. The new 15 R1 making 230 will probably run circles around it and for much less $$ but at the end of the day you buy the bike you like for the reasons that matter to you.
I think the real statement will come from the other manufacturers not bothering with anything aside from what they already do. Busa and ZX14 already rule the hyperbike segment, literbikes rule the superbike segment, 600cc's rule the suppersport class. This bike is a bike all on its own and does not fit in. Cool idea tho.
