That actually makes total sense.

My fairing kit actually came from a guy who would buy Daytonas and instantly convert them to track bikes. To fund the process, he would immediately strip off the factory fairings and sell them... in most cases a complete OEM fairing set w/ headlights can go for $1,000-1,5000. Then he'd throw on some aftermarket racing fairings and be set. It's a good way to fund your track bike too.

I got really lucky with mine and got an amazing deal. They had never seen the street ... it would have been $2,200+ from the dealer plus the tank!
