My riding gear was a lot less than 1500. I think it was closer to 800 if I remember correctly. 1500 seems like a lot for riding gear for a beginner. The only thing I’m missing is riding pants since I can't make up my mind on which ones to buy.
Full length boots and gloves are just as important as a good helmet and jacket. I think that is where most people cheap out
