I bought an OPO from another member here, and have used it for about a month and a half now. I knew it wouldn't be under warranty when I bought it because he also wasn't the original owner, but I bought it anyway as it was cheap.

Here's my take on the phone and the company:

As long as the phone is built properly in the factory - and this seems to be the case, as apart from the yellow screens (which was fixed/goes away), a lot of the issues people have is with software. Software bugs can be fixed, and most phones have software issues. If anything, OPO is actually one of the better manufacturers in this regard, as they release frequent updates and their team actually do listen to customers.

If it's a hardware problem, then it's a different story. Their support is very very slow if not non-existant, and even if it's RMA approved, you have to send it to China - there are reports of it taking months, all the while you don't have a phone. Also parts are virtually non-existant, so you can't really repair it (like me).

I ordered another one yesterday, and it was shipped out today.

I think it comes down to balance. The $$ savings in the phone itself have to be offset somehow, and it's likely coming from what happens when you have problems with it. But its a risk you take as a buyer. You knew all these possibilities when you bought the phone.

For now, despite the mishaps, OPO is still good in my books. Although of course that may change later and I'll spend twice the money on a phone from an established manufacturer. Who knows.

PS. The OPO forums is indeed a shitshow. Half the people on it don't even have the phone lol.
