BevMo in Bellingham carries Hibiki 12. That's the closest to Vancouver. It is near impossible to find any Suntory whiskey in Vancouver or even Canada. Trust me I have tried. Occasionally you might come across a Yamazaki at Legacy or Firefly if their agent brings in a case, but it is impossible to know when. I haven't seen one there in the past 12 months. Sometimes you might see a bottle at a higher end Japanese restaurant. Bistro Sakana had a bottle of Hibiki 17 (at $21/oz) but the owner wouldn't tell me where he got it. lol. "Fell off the back of the truck" I suspect. Or one of his staff brought it back from Japan.
On Friday I had my first Taiwanese whiskey. Kavalan single malt. I was skeptical but really enjoyed it.
