I should've responded but I shrugged it off. Reflecting back, am I too sensitive thinking she just indirectly cursed me or did she just do it to make me feel guilty? I thought it was pretty classless.

If you notice these sorts of things you'll find people all the time do things like let doors slam in other people's faces, brake check people while driving allllll the time, and generally take the opportunity to give people backhanded compliments and other snide remarks.
"I hope cancer doesn't touch your life." Wow! That is cold as fuck!

I didn't want to stir up any controversy or cause any disturbance to my neighbors with a shouting match because of what she said. I didn't like it of course but I'm sure I wasn't the first one she's said it to.
It sucks because I'm all about donating to foundations and raising money for awareness or cure. I have donated to the Variety Club and BCCHF many years. This won't deter me from donating but it does put the BC Cancer Foundation on a bad light if these are the ambassadors representing them.
