Congrats! If you can afford the extra cost, go with platinum. It's a more durable and pure metal. There is actually no such thing as white gold, it's a mix of metals, usually has nickel in it, too, which can be an issue if someone has an allergy or sensitivity. You also have to get it re-dipped in rhodium every so often, as the whiteness wears off.
