didn't have the right tool for the caliper piston...had better luck with a fat flathead screwdriver than a channellock that the DIY video suggested.

Depending on the type of caliper you can sometimes get an open end wrench on there going points-in, and then clamping vice grips on perpendicular to it. Hard to explain without a picture but it worked great on my RX7 which has two V shaped groves cut into the face of the piston.
