That's messed up. There might be a reason why she can't get a boyfriend in Canada. Those would-be boyfriends aren't dating a girl, they're dating a family from the start.
Normal thing: Go out with a girl, and if she likes you enough, she'll introduce you to her family and vice versa.
Not normal: Having her family around while you don't even know what this girl looks like or who she is at all and then have her family on a panel to judge you. All while you're trying to figure out who who this girl is and what the fuck is going on all around.
Just looking at this objectively. That's not how things work normally in Canada. Even Indian arranged marriages will be less awkward.
With friends that set you up like this, who needs enemies?
