Ducati sound

What do you think about Ducati sound?
People say they want a Ducati partially because of their sound, but to me, it doesn't sound that good.

Old Ducatis sound like they're gonna fall apart I guess because of dry clutch, newer Ducatis don't even sound that sporty compare to...say GSX-R600 or something.
I've seen Monster and Panigale revving, and they did sound good if you're only like 2 or 3 feet away so that you can hear the deep rumbling sound, but if you see them on the street, like flying by at tens or hundreds of feet away, they don't even sound that great compare to other sport bikes.

I was wondering if it was just me or do you agree that Ducatis don't sound that great?
