At least you're past this stage and moving on to the next one with the specialist. Modern back surgery is a lot less invasive, and a lot more successful today. Plus you're in good hands in BC. There are a lot of good surgeons who work in our region.
There is truth to staying positive though. While your case may be difficult, it's not impossible and that is a hope to hang on to. Think about going to your first IPSC match after all this is said and done. It's going to be all the sweeter when you get there
