A lot of employers for paid work is looking for people with experience, even for entry level jobs. If you have zero work experience, it's a good idea to volunteer and gain some experience.

It took me 11 months before I actually got a job in my field of study. After a few months of looking, I decided to volunteer and gain some work experience as that greatly helped increase my odds in landing a job as I had zero to none experience in my field. Of course, who the hell wants to work for free, right? But you'll make back everything shortly after.
